Week One - Study In Orange

I love to photograph green things, so I challenged myself a bit by attempting shades of orange.

Peak Foliage: 10-18-2006; University of Maryland, 4:30 pm; f 3.5; 1/25; Canon Power Shot S2-IS

Cutie: 1-9-10 ; Home, the kitchen table, 4:30 pm; f 3.5; 1/8; Olympus FE-340 point and shoot. Macro setting. Color saturated slightly in Picasa

Kenworth 9: 1-10-10; Rexburg, ID, Zollinger, 4:45 p.m.; f-4.6; 1/100; Olympus FE-340; Saturated in Picasa.

Deliverance: 1-10-10; Rexburg, ID, 2nd West, 4:55 p.m.; f-3.5; 1/40; Olympus FE-340; Used tippy-toe angle and Picasa color saturation and soft-focus effects.

Oh - and for those of you who are guessing - the road cone is the most common splash of orange in Rexburg.

  1. Hillary - I absolutely LOVE the orange leaf from the University of Minnesota! It doesn't even look real, the colors are so vivid. :) I also like the angle you chose for the mailbox... it's an interesting perspective of a common object. I like that you didn't peel the orange entirely - the texture of the peel is beautiful.

  2. I LOVE orange so, naturally, I really enjoy your pictures. The oranges leaves just made me happy and think of the fall. The light and the colors are beautiful.
I also love that you added the picture of the road-cone. I actually thought of doing orange as well JUST to take a picture of those because they are very prevalent in Rexburg. :)

  3. Orange is one of my favorite colors and it's great to see such beautiful photos of it! My favorite is of the truck with that great snow on it. The white of the snow against that orange is really nice. The light is also great. :)
